Generation Ships

I'm planning a route to visit some generation ships in the bubble as I've not seen any before.

Is it possible to scan them for data logs? Is there anything else to be aware of when nearby, such as salvage?

I don't want to go there only to leave and find out I missed something!

Yes they are all scanable. Remember that scanning doesn't work unless you deploy weapons. There are things to salvage, cargo bays to hack etc, but not of much use to an explorer. These ships are fun to visit.

I don't think any generation ships have anything to hack or steal; just the data logs to scan. And the data points don't have any data to sell or store as mats; there's nothing there you can extract for credits, just a story to read. Since in all but one case the generation ships are dead, it's usually a sad story.

That's cool. I'm visiting crash sites as well so I'm keen to get the story behind some of the stuff I'm playing.
