Genetic Sampler scan pulse sound differs on result

I haven't seen any posts about this but I noticed that the Genetic Sampler scan pulse makes different sounds based on the result you get.
  1. If there is an unknown plant nearby it makes a boing noise that seems to become more intense the closer you are to the plant.
  2. If there are no plants or only known plants the scan pulse ends with a tick sound.
Has anyone else noticed this?

the game has incredible audio, best enjoyed using headphones.

I disagree, surround sound is much better. It is really well done. The bio-scanner "boing" sound for example clearly shows the relative direction of the nearest "hit". Leaving stations you can hear traffic behind you approach and pass - really helpful in busy locations.

If it were at all possible for Elite to produce true binaural audio then of course headphones would be best but at the moment surround-sound works best for me.

Surround sound with a bass transducer strapped to your chair 😊

It was the sound design that convinced me to sign up for the Alpha, sublime work.

@fnord, one of my favorites is the thruster/hull vibrations you get once close to the terrain, which makes extremely low-level FA-OFF flying a breeze with a transducer.

While back. Mentioned it a few times.
It's also different sound depending on what type is being scanned.
#'s 2 and 3 diversity samples will also sound off, helping find sneaky bacterium, and sound is directional'
