Geological and Human points of Interest

I just recently discoverex how to use the detailed surface scanner and I'm really excited about it. When I scan High Metal Content worlds I'll frequently get both human and Geological interest points. Unfortunately, I play on a PS4 and I am caught in the don't have Horizons bug so I can't land near any of those sites. I noticed that the geological sites show up on my system display but the human ones do not. Do I need to land at the human ones to discover them and ahve them shoe up as an option for that respetcive planet?

It looks like it would be cool game play and I hupe Fronter fixes the problem soon so I can parteke in it. Can you whet my appetite? What sorts of things will I find at these points that I reveal from using the DSS?

Thanks,

Mountain Tiger 1

They should show up as options on the system display as well. However, bear in mind that certain stuff in orbit, like fleet carriers, megaships and so on, will also show up as "Human (1)" (or more) on the display.
For example, the IGAU Inverness carrier (DSSA) in Thraikoo PS-U e2-4 is in orbit of a water world, and the world reads "Human (1)" despite not being landable.

As for what the actual planetside POIs are: human stuff is usually bases, although I can't remember if the dockable ones show up this way or not. Otherwise, you'll find abandoned bases with logs to scan (and some stuff to loot), or perhaps some crashed ships. CMDR Jameson's crashed Cobra is quite famous, less so for the excellent voice logs (which are very much worth a listen), and more so for data farming.
Oh, and if a base was destroyed by Thargoids, an interceptor might drop by while you're out in your tiny, tiny SRV.

As above, human includes FC, CZ, Megaships and POIs like Installations in space but not Stations or Outposts - need POI & Station & FC filters on to see them all

Plus planetary Settlements and bases of all types whether 'landable' or not (in use or not but not the RNG ones), Crashed Ships and Tourist Beacons on the planet. An issue with the last 2 means they dont always show in NavPanel until you get real close or drop into Glide sometimes but they should I think, they used to anyway just like the others. - Need POI and Settlements filters on to see them all.

Dunno how the PS bug affects whats displayed or not.

Won't spoil what you could find, too much fun finding out :)

I believe everyone from all platforms received Horizons last year, you should be able to land on a planet if you have vehicle hangar equipped and bought a vehicle in the slot.

You don't need a vehicle hangar or SRV on board to fly down to the surface and land on it; you only need the SRV to do anything useful on the surface once you've landed.

What you do need to have installed is a planetary landing suite. If you've sold it (a reasonable option for non-Horizons buyers back before Horizons was given away free for all), then you'll need to buy a new one or it won't let you land on a planet. They're in Core modules, not Optional.

You do need to be actually playing the Horizons version of the game too, of course. Just because you have Horizons installed, does not mean you are necessarily playing the Horizons version of the game.
