Newcomer / Intro geological signal -what if the signal is dotted / underground?

Hi newbie bere

how do i know if i finished exploring a geological signal?

the signal site i am at is dotted ( i know if a signal is dotted, it's behind a planet), what should i do? apparantly it's underground, just 2 meters under my CRV.

I've checked every corner within 2km and i am sure i've got all material, isn't there any note or sth telling me i've done searching this signal or do i just leave it?

Tks.

Sometimes it is behind a small rise, sometimes if the surface isn't properly generated yes it will be underground, just keep in mind, that's all it is, a marker that shows where it is, the real stuff is the vulcanism.

I rember that there was something under the ground that you needed to scan at the crashed Thargoid Scout site. You could get it by lying the SRV on its side.

Sometimes it's a matter of getting close enough for the scan to work, and if you felt it necessary to lay your SRV down on it's side, well it does remind me of that Tuantaun scene in Stars Wars, was it warm in there? whether it's meant to be that way is another question, I never did that particular manouver myself.
