Geology - I can't find another valid ice geyser to scan.

Good afternoon:

When I arrive at a planet to do geology, when I scan an ice geyser, if it is the first one, everything is ok, but when I move to another part of the planet, even thousands of kilometers from the first, when I scan another ice geyser I get It says that "no new features were found" and doesn't count me for the three samples needed to record the discovery. Can someone explain to me what I have to do? Is it necessary for it to be another type of geyser, like carbon dioxide, methane? Or am I doing something wrong? I've been wasting hours on this matter.

Thank you very much for the help.
All the best.

Geological features can only be scanned with the Composition scanner (in the SRV or your ship), and you only get 1 Codex entry for them, and a small payment (50,000 credits if it's new in the Sector, for you).

Only Biological items must be scanned 3 times, using the hand scanner in the Artemis suit, NOT the Composition scanner. This must be done on-foot. Then you must sell the data to get your credits (which can be a lot, depending on the exact bio you found, and whether anyone else has scanned it on that body).

Hope that helps.
