I recently landed on an Rocky icy body. The system planet describes the moon as having just Water Geysers and plenty of em. I milked one site for all it was work and moved on to another 746km away in a pretty slick looking canyon. However that's when things seemed off. Instead of a water geysers the Canyon was full of magma spits and conical towers.
Well again, according to the planet description I should be seeing Water geysers. Not that it's a big deal, it has what I'm looking for. It's more of a curiosity.

Is this type of information or lack there of common?

It's been a while since I hunted geo codex, but IIRC you normally get up to 3 codex entries per planet. They all give the same loot.

Yeah, I've been noticing that quite a bit today. I suppose the FSS and system description lists the predominant ones. They certainly do give the same booty as per the FSS listing.
