Germanium Where is it?

So can't find Germanium. I only have Elite Dangerous. Is this a planet only material? If so how is that fair that we can't find this in a ring in Elite Dangerous being we have to deal with materials constantly clogging up the storage while mining and the reduced mining rates due to the need for limpets to collect materials and the inability to not have them collect materials?

I found it at the barnacle site (currently intact) at Pleione 11 A (Latitude -6.2472 Longitude -173.9321). Fill yer boots...

I have obtained Germanium from Pristine Rocky Asteroids, use a Prospector and look for the 'Roids with Medium or Better material content

Any kind of metallic, metal rich or even Icy if Germanium is all you're looking for.

Material wise there's pretty much no distinction what so ever between the two metallic and metal rich, they both drop the same materials in pretty much the same quantities. Icy drops the same general stuff but seemingly with some of the metal-based elements removed but not seen anything added in to replace them, just less variation from ice belts.

Straight forward material data copy & paste jobby it seems.

Im pretty sure I've flushed it a few times completely so I'll be more careful but its been exceptionally difficult trying to nail down what type of ring has a plentiful supply so I can work the FSD boost.

I'm a miner, too, and mostly have been venting carbon, sulphur, etc. I mostly mine pristine, with the occasional mission detour to icy and rocky. I did just learn about FSD injection, and have a good stock of germanium though (about 35), so it's out there in the rings. Maybe just bad luck?

Germanium is not a true metal so I think Rocky not Metallics would be the place to look to increase one's chanced of finding it

Germanium was kinda weird for me. I've mined in two different pristine metallic rings so far, and one of them hardly ever dropped Germanium. But once I moved to the other ring it started dropping pretty consistently.

I have a bunch of it and could sell you some if we can agree on the price... oh yeah, that's not possible in Elite
