Newcomer / Intro Get the Asp?

So, i want to get the Asp, but getting the money for it seem like ages..

How do folks get their money? I have been doing missions and trading like crazy, even in anarchy where there is lots of 40-50k pays for delivering slaves..

And trading, dont seem to get that much even if i get 300-500 per tonne in my hauler...

Am i doing anything wrong? Currently around 300k asset

Also, is it worth setting up ( home base ) for trading in a high tech system?

Getting enough capital together to invest in an Asp is daunting, let alone kitting it out once you've bought it. You're going to spend a mind-boggling amount of time trying to earn that kind of cheddar doing anything besides trading, and even trading will be slow to begin if you're in anything smaller than a Cobra. You're going to spend a fair amount of time saving up the 1 mil needed to buy a Type-6.

The good news, if I've done my math right, is that once you've got a Type-6 and the cash flow to fill it with something expensive with a high profit margin (superconductors are a good one, I hear), your earning potential for even short trade runs starts to skyrocket.

So no, I don't think you're doing anything wrong, you're just starting out

If trading is going to be your main source of income, you could do a lot worse than picking a High Tech system to set up shop in - once you're ready to upgrade, they're likely to have more options in the shipyard, as well.

This high tech system buys gold and all minerals on High Demand, i noticed. so on gold run now.

Should i get the cobra and upgrade the cargo to max for trading fast i can, regarding i have to cower cost if lost etc..

The way I got to my Asp was from a hauler. cobra 40 ton cargo is the sweet spot and then a type six with 100 ton Rare Commodities is a good earner you have to go at lest 120ly, some time you can come across station with high demand for each other product sometimes in the same system closes to the star then become friendly with the functions, it is a grind and some times you loss and sometimes you win

I would, yes - Cobra, then Type-6, and that should be able to ride that to the Asp.

Only when docked - note that you can buy trade data from nearby systems from the galaxy map when docked (using the tooltip that pops up when you mouse over a star), and then view that data from the Commodities Market by going to the top right of the goods list and changing it from "Galactic Average" to the specific system you bought the data for.

I'm really noob when it comes to trading but I use import/export, naturally thinking that imports will be in high demand and exports will have a high supply. I've barely made any money with it though but that was also before the AI change when I would actually lose money buying exports and selling them to importing stations.

Is 18k around good profit from 22 tons? With 1 jump between systems, 1 station 12ls from star other around 2000ls
