Gettin' mightly annoyed....

....with the amount of times NPC ships just fly into me in the docks. I don't mean them getting in my way....I'm flying straight line out of the dock, and they are flying up into the sides of me!

My ASP costs a lot to keep going, and when I'm losing 10k in repairs on a 30k run minus fuel too, it's difficult to turn a profit!!

I know what you mean. I never used to go into the hangar until an Anaconda decided to take me out whilst I was on the platform. Always go into the Hangar now. NPC's are all colour blind, cant tell the difference between red and green.

Suggest you get yourself a top line shield. My Cobra has been rammed while docking by both an Asp & a Python, but I have A4s - No damage to my ship. :)

Being faced with this terrible tragedy mankind has developed a brand new solution at the dawn of the 34th century: shields

Also don't go blasting out of the station. Moving slowly gives you the chance to back up / avoid the oncoming lunatic.

My asp does not even have shields (or weapons) and I have never had any issues with NPC pilots. I make sure I know where they are and they make a good job of avoiding me too. I suffered a 5% scrape earlier today but that was my own fault because trying to plot an interstellar jump as I am leaving dock is not really a good idea.

Complacency and overconfidence, the bane of all long term grinders...

It is a pain! I've had a couple of collisions whilst lifting off the landing pad. most of the time I lift off gently until the holographic display changes back to the radar, then you can see if there's anyone above you. However I have had some clown NPCs ram me up the engine ports as I have reached a level above the pad, fortunately I have good shields so they tend to come off worse. Then you sometimes get the message 'My boss is not going to like this' over the comms. :D

I had a few days back a T9 blocking my Python when I was leaving the station. Stupidly, I tried to look for big enough hole..but he was stuck in the grille all across the entrance. Got trespass warning...and fined, when the T9 shook loose and came stright at me. Reversed as fast as I could, time ticking down...boosted out at once there was room, managed to not hit anything but station opened fire...boom. Fun times :)

Red and green just shows you which side is up, arrows on both sides of the gate points inwards, the signage is screwed. I never enter a station in the middle, always on the sides. Also it's important to read the NPC, I've saved my ship many times by seeing the behaviour of the NPC looking suspect before he's fired at by the station 3 seconds later.

Full speed in and out, that's my motto. The faster you're moving, the less chance something will run into you.

In the early days in my Sidewinder I once had a station fire through me to get to the criminal in front - there were two booms :D

Now I give them room when I am leaving or entering a station

I've been bumped about many times by NPCs and had a commander Asp try to land on me too, but never lost the shields never mind got damage. This is in an Asp with C5 shield and four pips.

I've played 100+ hours since release, in Sidewinders/haulers and a cobra, no shields, no scanner for max storage.
Never been crashed into... Its me that usually crashes into something.

I often boost out of stations for a laugh..

Currently flying a sidewinder.. And can honestly say its been fun and don't plan on changing my style (until I get a 1m+ ship)
