Getting concerned about the larger ships, are we using up our 30?

It's been stated before by Frontier that Elite is not about player piloted capital ships. Anything larger then a Corvette-class ship is unlikely.

I'm not asking for capital class ships, just ships equal or slightly larger than the Anaconda, possibly with more firepower, nothing else - having full capital ships would ruin (imo) the spirit of Elite

Massively bigger ships are viable in planetary landings as world ports could cater for much larger ships.

Yeah but how would you get off most planets with massively bigger ships?
I vividly remember getting stranded on a high gravity world with my Panther Clipper in Frontier Elite II. That was quite a shock I can tell you.
If FE2 is anything to go by I do not believe very large ships will have the engine power, let alone the fuel to overcome planetary gravity of 1g and higher. I believe the devs will implement limitations to the mass of ships that can take off and get into orbit again.
Massively bigger ships can forget it. I am sure about that.

It's great some more mid sized ships have been announced, but I'm getting concerned about the amount of variants that are being made - are they using one of our thirty ships slots?

I'm really starting to wonder if we'll get any larger ships, the Federal Corvette has not been mentioned for some time, and there is no news at all of the Panther clipper - other than concept.

It would be great to have some battleship style class ships as well - we know that the can't get much larger than the Anaconda due to the station slot - but we can get longer, ships more dedicated to pure combat as well.

It would be nice just to get some news really!

Well, I guess they are able to make bigger letter boxes for some stations or even other types of landing platforms/space stations. I think its all about priority. Frontier can make anything they want into the galaxy. At least I suppose they can or hope. It just takes time. So first things first I suppose, but I really want bigger ships to. Its something about this game which just wants you to want more. Bigger and better. My mind is set on Gamescom, what will they reveal? Its like waiting for the Christmas dinner. Its so long to wait :p

Hence where having wing-men, in smaller ships, who can retrieve what is needed on the surface for you; you become an orbital warehouse for them. ;)
