Getting enough missions for big ships?

With mode-switching no longer working, how are people now filling up their big ships? Do you just relog every half hour to check if there are any more missions you can pick up and do one run per 5h? Or do people run with 20% filled? Trying to fill up a cutter with legal passenger missions is a pita, 75% offered are illegal, the few legal ones are just not enough. Is there any trick to force the mission board to restock?

Pick somewhere with more factions? Don't have many issues myself, then again I'm not choosy, criminals are people too!

It's all about finding good place to run missions from and getting allied with factions there.
I don't do passengers, but cargo missions are easy enough - just not in the middle of the bubble.
