Getting fed up with this gaming mechanic.

Before I started smuggling I got rammed occasionally by security whilst scanning near but not in the 'box.

Since smuggling I usually enter the 'box at full throttle!

I can't understand why pilots LET themselves get rammed. When I hear a ship on collision course on entry/exit to/from a station (yes, I said HEAR it), it is too easy to jink out of the authority ships path even though I can't see the authority ship. TOO EASY! I suppose if I were lazy and simply continued on a straight vector, then I'd get rammed a lot. Yes, that's most likely it. I suppose such a pilot would NOT be suitable for flying a real aircraft. "Uh, Captain, don't you hear that jet engine roar getting louder and closer?" "Copilot, mind your business and keep on the course I laid out. They'll move out of the way."

There's that, works with nimble ships just fine. Not so well with the lumbering behemoths...

I must not fly too fast
I must not fly too fast
I must not fly too fast
I must not fly too fast
I must not fly too fast

<mumble> stop marking the boost button as "siren" </mumble>

Speaking of behemoths, I fly and Anaconda and Corvette. I never get LET myself get hit by authority ships. The big ships roll easily and it takes only a small jink to put my ship on a slightly different vector. It doesn't take much to avoid a collision. I don't need to clear the other ship by a wide margin, only enough to let them slip close by without grazing my ship.
