Getting Messy

I don't envy the developers trying to cater for every man and is dog and his platform and his controller and his VR or non-VR setup whilst being commercially viable.
ED is becoming a messy compromise trying to please everyone. On the one hand they are trying to make it easier for new players and on the other hand we've got more modes and HUDs and tabs and controls and icons and crap all over the place. I'm get confused and Ive been playing the game for 3 years. The one thing that i see a new player struggling with is the controller bindings, but there's no improvements or guidance in that area. They really should flesh out the descriptions for all options and bindings. They need video training on bindings and controllers setup. I think trying to learn the controls and knowing whats importantant to bind while learning to play the game at the same time is the hardest thing for new players. Some binding and option descriptions are just completely blank! Also the amount of icons in the left nav panel since the april update seems to have made it all less clear. I don't like the continuous scroll on the left Nav panel. I mean the guy that first designed this obviously thought about it pausing once you get to the top and bottom for a reason. Now another dev guy comes along and goes well i think it should be continuous scroll. Why change it after 5 years? I bet the first guy was gen X and the second guy is gen Y! Also is it just me or is the new update stuttering more than ever.

I think another reason it's messy is because it's lived in. A house designed and built from start to finish before people move in tends to look better and make more sense than the house that starts small, and then is continually added to after the family moves in and the needs grow. Attach a bedroom here, a bathroom there, and soon you get some pretty odd looking architecture.
