Getting Rid of Bounties on Me

Hi, I accidentally shot a ship and I got a 400cr bounty from Naunin Jet Netcoms Inc. so I docked at a station run by that faction, but when I went to Contacts, there are no fines or bounties to pay off. The same thing happened recently in Mehet. Is there some other way of resolving bounties? It's been quite a while since I've had a bounty out on me and I may have simply forgotten how to settle them.

You can only pay off fines or they turn into bounties, bounties expire after a while.

That kind of bounty will have a timer associated with it. 5 to 10 mins all told. They convert to a simple fine after the timer expires but, you have to jump out, then back into that system to pay it off.

Ah, I see. I just have to dodge/kill off bounty hunters for the next week. As long as I know there's no way to settle the bounty, I'm fine with that. Thanks!!

Edit: the 400cr bounty has already expired. The 20k bounty from Mehet is quite a bit longer though.

A 400 CR bounty shouldn't have a 1 week timer. Somewhere in there you got tagged for murder if you have that long of a timer. If you get tagged for murder again, in that system, you will just extend the timer. Back up to a week. If you want to eliminate that bounty you have to stay out of trouble until the timer runs out.

Or, you can go all Suicidewinder. If that becomes your choice, you have to be killed and re-spawn at a station/outpost controlled by the faction that you are wanted with.

I settle my bounties with more violence and higher bounties.
