Hello Frontier folks,
Hope you're staying safe during the pandemic/lockdown. I know you're busy working on something and things will be tricky, I expect, with working from home and what not...but I thought it was still worth barging into the Feedback forum to list some QoL changes I'd love to see in Planet Zoo because my wrist and fingers are killing me after coming back to PZ and having a binge.
(I'll just add that I do take regular breaks and I stretch/ take a moment to think: bloody nora, my hand's killing me -- and that's with a vertical mouse).
Right here we go, loves:
Granted, there is a feature similar to this in the game but it has no UI elements, meaning that (i.e.) you could want to have an iron bar attach to a ceiling and the game sticks the whole length of it along the surface of the tile, instead of a vertical position (say if you want your building to have beams/supports)...and so you have to give up on that and start clicking away, adjusting everything manually. Click-click-click.
Also: the icons could appear/change size based on proximity to the cursor. Have a think about it. Xx
Much love!

- Optional jigsaw markers - for attaching building pieces more easily, without putting on a shadow puppet show; twisting your hands about to get to Shift and Ctrl. With these markers, you'd just point your mouse at the icon, left click - job done. You can have this one for free, even though I paid a professional artist £500 for the following render to illustrate how attractive this feature would be:

- Click & Drag/Plop > Current system - I know I know, we've been going on about this for a while. But we really do need a click and drag/plop system for paths and building (where possible). Again, there's so much clicking. The joy I would feel being able to click once, line up where I want my path or barrier to end and finishing that segment with just one more click. Also, just a general note, when activating angle snap when building off of an existing barrier grid, it should start with the angle actually snapped rather than applying it to the next segment we place.
- Other Places Where I'm Clicking Away Far Too Much - When looking at an animal's habitat needs, clicking on their biome/location info in the Plants tab should add these filters to the scenery menu if it's open. This'll take out a bunch of clicks. When engaging with animals in the animals tab in the Zoo menu, whether it's moving them or selecting them, the menu shouldn't be reset after we're done with this interaction. We need menus to stay open or at least take us straight back to what we were looking at, so we can organise our zoo more effectively and again, without so so many clicks. The animal market needs a text search bar like the construction/habitat menus which would be better than opening a sub-menu to scroll down a list of animals in order to save myself the effort of scrolling down a list of animals. The sub-menu serves only to filter out multiple animals but doesn't allow us to home in on exactly what we need quickly. Click-click-click XD
Much love!
