And there it is. Rolled in 10,088 merits for Hudson last night. Mostly shooting up Torval space.
Started in my Cobra. Could run back and forth in a couple jumps, which was nice. But it wasn't the best for undermining. I had to run from many a clipper, python, or elite vulture when I was solo. Winged up with mine and my buddies cobra we could put the hurt on the bigger ships, but alone many ships were able to jump away before I could get in the killing blow. Made for a pretty tough grind. Ran a few fortification vouchers in my T6. Nanoman is so far from the fortification systems that it turned out to be a pretty tough grind too. Although, I did notice that Nanoman is not far from one leg of my rare-run. So I would stop of and pick up a few high profit items, which then made the long trip worthwhile, as my rares were worth a pretty penny at the end.
Eventually decided to blow 80% of my saved assets ($20Million) on a vulture build. A spec'd most of it that I could afford too. Big honking beam laser and a hoe-thumping-cannon sure do put the hurt on. It takes a while to get where I'm going, it's jump range is pretty meager, and it's D4 thrusters are pathetic, but with A5 shields for talking and the previously mentioned weapons to do the walking, I could hang out and take on damn near anything while watching the merit counter rack up. Hell, half my battles were over before my FSD finished cooling off.
5k a week to keep rank 5 shouldn't be too rough. Getting to 10k in one week was tough, but being winged up with my buddy was great fun. I'm enjoying my vulture so far.
Hopefully once this is over I can start ranking up in the empire and get myself a clipper.
