getting 'teamkilled' by Clippers at CGs

There is this great feature where a short incident of friendly fire in a CG CZ will cause the player in question to become hostile to everyone.
What happens is Commanders in Clippers dive into your beams just for the satisfaction of ramming you to death afterwards.

I never ragequit, but I just did. Community Goal sounds like a fun Community thing to do, but 90% of Imperial Clipper commanders at CG CZs are complete jerks that play for the only purpose of ruining the game for the rest of the community.

Despite being furious about this sort of behavior I am wondering how the rest of you guys deal with these clowns.

I just do cgs in solo. Lame I know, but these types come out in numbers for cgs and I'd just rather avoid them.

well community goals are a little weird to start off. I mean why can you just change factions in the heat of the battle?

On another note. I use gimballed weapons and get very close to my target. Like really really close. So its kind of impossible to get between me and my target.

My problem was a FDL killing all CMDRS there. He tried to kill me too but he underestimated my vulture and he is now space irradiated dust

Join the möbius group. A handful of us were fighting in the CZ and everyone was very respectful. There was even a vulture fighting for the other faction and we all had a great time blasting NPCs.

Well when i joined it in Mobius i got insta-rekt by other CMDR's but im not mad : D

I do CG CZ's in solo mode, not because or bad experience with other commanders but because there's never enough ships when even half a dozen other people are around... The CZ is empty, everybody's just just waiting anxiously for the next spawn, then everybody rushes in for the kill. Overall not fun, lots of frustration and a total waste of time.

If you want to be have fun, be useful for the CG, then you need to shoot the most ships in as little time possible, and you can only do that in solo...

Well that's my idea of a good time anyway.

Are you certain they were deliberately trying to take fire from you? I find this to be a very uncertain proposition, since most people can just stop shooting when they see someone else in close proximity.

Did they feel you were depriving them of their bonds?

Why were you even fighting in such close proximity to non-wingmates anyway?

I do my very best to stay away from other CMDRs in CZ unless they are hostile or specifically ask for assistance. Doing otherwise is sure to step on someone's toes.

If someone is deliberately trying to provoke me, I take initiative and I destroy them. Anyone fool enough to try to get me to accidentally turn red before being willing to open up on me has already given up their best shot at doing me any harm and I do not bring weak vessels to Conflict Zones.

This is nonsense.

Take the current Quivira CG...last I countered there were eleven conflict zones, and at least a few of them are nearly empty at any given time. Most people are just too damn lazy for more than 30 seconds of super cruise.

I use Clipper, but I do CZ's in solo usually so the only real person that can be upset with me is Sarah because of these poor NPCs ;)
So what I'm saying, jerks come in all kind of vessels, lets not blame clippers, beautiful ships :)

In regards to why I was fighting near other CMDR's: The CZs I checked (and I checked quite a few) all had CMDR's so I just settled for one. In that CZ I found a Python to kill at the other end of the zone from the other CMDRs. Of course it takes a while for a Viper to kill a Python so they came to me instead.

Why I didn't release the mouse button in time: partially my fault maybe. I was busy moving around while firing gimballed beams at quite close proximity. While doing so while being less-than-completely-alert I realized a bit too late that that clipper popped infront of me.

I'm quite sure he did it on purpose because there was only enough space between me and the python for 1 or 2 clippers and he gently placed his infront of me. I was not flying around. I was moving around the Python using vertical thrusters and a bit of FA Off mouse action because my Plasma Accelerator requires me to be very close to hit modules.

There is just no way he ended up infront of me by accident.

After posting this thread I did notice something weird though. I've been rammed by clippers before (among others a clipper boosting out of a station while I was exiting at 80m/s) and I survived all those bumps with only shield damage. This Clipper rammed me to death in one go though. He looked at me, hit the throttle from about 3 clipper lengths away and hit me. boom. dead. 100% shields and hull gone instantly. I'm not sure thats supposed to happen like that. (full A spec viper)

I could have tried to run away, but by the time I had written "nice blocking my beams there clipper" he was already on his ramming course. So running would not have helped at all. (FSD charges slow in the middle of a CZ especially with a clipper nearby like that)

:( They're giving clippers a bad name, but lets face it, not sure if they're a beautiful ship, but you could certainly put a disco in the cockpit with all the glitz and glare :)

Similar thing a bunch of clippers ramming yesterday near the CG. I wsa playing with a chap who was bored and lonely and tired of solo. It was hirst first open play. The smashed his ship to pieces. I doubt he will ever be back.

This is the sad state of Open as of now. Maybe give the Mobius PvE group with over 8000 commanders a go?:

Can't guarantee you won't get attacked in a conflict zone, as it is allowed, but definitely a "better" brand of commanders. :)

Fly safe

Or just do community goals in solo when they are being trolled. I always check out a CG first and if its looking too dicey with fun killers, i just hop to solo.

Though i am a strong advocate of open mode, i am also a strong advocate of making money from CG's.

Sick of this mobius crap every time there is a thread with a negative story about open. They are the exception not the rule, give it a rest. Everyone knows about mobius by now, if they want to join they will.

It can't be that great or people wouldn't be relentlessly plugging it every single chance they get, no matter how slight.

My my. So playing in a group of over 8000 like minded commanders is now crap in your world, and you would rather play solo?

And "everyone" knows about a private group that can be found in a sub forum of a forum that few of the player base actually use?

Good luck with that rash.

Had similar in res. A python will generally get the last shot over a cobra. This guy doesnt want to wing and starts ramming and flying infront of me to get clipped.

Its the end of my session so think why not. We go face to face and I open fire knowing it will get interesting with security.

He keeps running but I get him to 56percent. Even with 3-4 security lighting me up. After a few mins my shields go. Time for bed. Interesting exp. I know your name. Its not the end.

Oh heya Thalios!

*Last night we both waited at the dock in Diso, I was waiting to leave, he was waiting to come in. It was very gentlemanly, eventually I had to message him*

Point is, Mobius is friendly :) I only came because of the CG, I might stay.
