Getting the hang of this exploring.

Hi all.

I've been out to Colonia and I am now 4400ly away from saggitarias A and then I want a look at the Great destroyer.

I've found 3 earth like planets on this trip as well as loads of gas giants supporting life too. I got to colonia in early November and gave up the game for a while because I could not face the trip back but I am over that now.

What shiny and interesting things should I go look at on my way back to the bubble?.... I plan to stop off at one of the stations that link to colonia on the way back.... too worried about an NPC killing me before I sell my data.

The best advice I can give you based on my experience with the DW expedition is to make returning home your ultimate goal. I know that sounds silly, but my goal was to get to Beagle Point. I took me months and when I finally achieved it, the letdown was massive. Thats not to say that I wasn't very happy with what we'd done and experienced as a group, but I had a huge return journey that was inconsequential compared with what I'd just done. If I had it all to do over, I'd have planned an equally epic return trip with as many if not more POI's than on the way. Also, if it is just a slog, treat it like exercise. Do just 1000 Ly's towards home and then if you're tired, do anything else you like. Soon, you'll be back in the bubble and have plenty else to occupy yourself.

If you want a truly interesting, even almost unique, sight to see, I can highly recommend the Glowing Green Giant of Blua Hypa.

Some call it a graphics glitch. I call it biofluorescent radioplankton. Either way, it is persistent.

It's on the direct line between Colonia and the Bubble, so if you're already on your way to Sag A and the Great Annihilator, then this is a bit of a long detour for you on the way back.

You could drop wheels on the largest recorded land-able world.

I went out twice, seemed like far out but people here showed me it was a backyard trip. Anyway, both times the return trip was boring and done because in the end, you need to get back. Oh and yes, definitely go solo.

Or definitely go with others.

Google 'Elite expedition' and find either expedition yet to come (Distant Stars, DWE 3303, Mercury 7 Expedition, Ikarus (still top-secret!), etc.) or expeditions that have been completed and will give you a lot of POIs and travel routes.

Or you can check EDDiscovery's 3D map and go where nobody seems to have gone before.
