Newcomer / Intro Getting to Station

Hello,
Sorry to bother ppl but I have had an issue right from the word go. I departed my starting port and decided to jump to another port which I selected the port from my Nav menu only to jump within around 18 days but for some reason when I attempt to jump again I am back to my starting point. am I doing something wrong trying to jump the second time because now im stuck 18 days away and I cant seem to move any quicker...any help will be appreciated!!!

I looked at that tutorial but for some reason his starting point is different to the actual tutorial and I couldn't find the same destination's as his. I did manage to go into supercruise and I also did manage to hyperjump once but for some reason I had the same problem getting to the station in the tutorial, I could do one initial jump from >1 LY but the second jump which was only 500Ls or so I could jump and for some reason the super cruise speed was very slow and I would of taken forever to get there...any idea what I am doing wrong?

You need to fly in Super cruise as you would normally and that means increasing the throttle.

If you could post a video of what you're doing it would be helpful.

If you guys can enlighten me further... im guessing I have made the initial jump to get me close enough so I can continue on using super cruise considering im only around 500Ls away, the problem is I set my ships throttle to full power and for some reason I keep getting kicked back to my first initial jumpoint. After the initial jump is there a chance im still trying to hyperjump instead of supercruise causing me to jump back and if so how do I turn off the Hyperjump and only switch to Super cruise. I apologize early for any confusion in my comment....Im new to this. (Please note I have tried the Travel Tutorial and encounter the same issue)

There's a possibility you're making a mistake I made when first starting the game. I had the throttle mapped to thrust forwards/backwards rather than increase/decrease throttle. You don't notice the difference in normal flight, but the former won't work in supercruise.

Like to thank everyone for their input especially carlisle as I had incorrectly assigned my joystick the forward thrust settings......Thanks again Guys !!!
