Getting your eye prescription from...Specsavers?

i've been wearing glasses from Specsavers for a while now - I've had eye test there too, so I'm assuming that they will have my prescription on record. Will they just give me a copy of said prescription if I ask for it? (Need for VR Labs lenses, y'see.)

Here in Australia they will reprint any of your eye tests. They seem to always keep the records, for years and probably permanently.

I called SpecSavers and asked them for my IPD. They said they could only give out face to face due to privacy. I said that is daft as not only can I easily be verified on the phone, the IPD is not sensitive information. I asked to speak with the manager and I explained and he agreed and provided over the phone.

If you have paid for an eye test and it is still valid (the prescription lasts two years I think) then if you go in and ask for a copy they should provide. I recently got glasses from specsavers using a prescription from Tesco opticians. Incidentally when ordering the glasses specsavers measured my IPD and I asked them what it was... it was 66.4. My Oculus rift setup process resulted in the IPD setting being 66, so pretty damn close!

Well, my branch in Reading did. They will only be able to do this at the branch where you normally go. Each branch is technically a franchise, and only has its' own client database.
