So I was in Colonia looking for something to do until the fifth of January rolls around when I got the bright idea to neutron jump 600 light years down and out and take the slow road back. I decided to look for volcanic features on the way because I saw quite a few pretty pictures of em on the internet. I thought I would do it the smart way: did my research, only looked at potatoes less than 500km big, searched canyons, intersections and big craters... one week 12 worlds, 3 hours on each world and all my free time later and I'm feeling so fed up when I drop down on Eol Prou YX-Y b15-29 B 3 a. Said it had silicon vapor geysers. I zoomed into a big crater with a crack in it and almost immediately, bingo! The tiny blue circle everyone's been talking about. I get it situated right in front of me just on the edge of on top of it and drop straight down keeping my eyes open for the visual.... and it's not there. I get out on my SRV and look around and there's nothing on the scope but an outcropping. Wondering what the heck is going on I get back in my ship and fly straight up... and the circle isn't there anymore! I was so frustrated I almost cried! What the heck is going on! I searched around the crater for a half hour. I was starting to think I was crazy when I re-found the dot at -38.3231 and 91.4336. I looked straight down from 2.15km up and there was nothing there. I dropped down on top of it again. And there was nothing there. How could anything possibly be worth all this frustration?
