Ghosting/Nvidia Colour Settings not applying since 1.4

EDIT: SOLVED!!!

Well, it's only a work around but at least it works!

Very simple: change the in game resolution to another setting, and then change it back again. NVCP colour settings applied!

You have to do this every time you alt-tab out of the game and back, and every time you restart the game.

---------------

The nvidia colour settings (NVCP>Adjust Desktop Colour Settings) don't apply to the game anymore. In fact, switching to the game in and of itself disables them completely. Even after I tab out of the game, windows hasn't kept them either (even though they are still set in the control panel, switching away to normal does nothing, and switching back applies them again).

When I tab into the game, I can see the colour settings applied for a split second, then it gets overdark.

This has happened since 1.4 to me, has it happened to anyone else? Any fixes?

I've tried a brand new cable ordered from Oculus themselves, I've tried restarting, I've tried tabbing out and in 100 times with various combinations of things to try in each. Nothing.

My current driver version is 353.62 and it worked fine on that before.
EDIT: Using the latest drivers now, still no improvement
I'm using the latest Windows 10.

Can't think of anything else!

Update drivers, they've had a ton of VR related stuff done to them. 353 is kinda old.

Just did so. Didn't help.

I'm slightly reassured that there are people not having this problem, means there is a solution out there somewhere

Mine did the same last night, picked up none of the nvidia control panel settings
However I have just gone in and adjusted digital vibrance from 63 to 64 just to try and change something slightly clicked apply and tested
Mine is now picking up the settings ok

Driver 355.98 win 8.1

I hope mine magically fixes itself at some point, but I've just noticed that I'm getting the supercruise bug too, so I'm closing the game and leaving it for now until we get some fixes :/

Today I updated to the newest Nvidia Driver and had the same issue... "Black Smearing"... My first thought was maybe I'm in 60hz mode.... I'll experiment a lil bit... Please tell us, when you found a fix!

Still haven't solved it. Has anyone else got the issue? Has anyone got a solution?

I know black smearing is done from the proprieties of the Amoled Panel(Leds switching ON and OFF), the only way to reduce is to "bright up" the blacks.

Guys, getting seriously annoyed at this, I have done some further research and found this post: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2051434/nvidia-control-panel-saving-settings.html and I'm about to try the solution in the third post. I'll let you know shortly if it fixes the issue.

EDIT: Didn't work

Out of curiosity, what colour settings are you using for horizons?

edit - for some reason the nvcp settings have always worked for me :/ No need to change the resolution. I have been messing around with different settings since 2.0 beta, in the end I went back to your recommended settings in the DK2 setup guide.

Cool :) I use Raja's settings that I've posted in the op of the compendium, they work a treat
