"Giant" Tortoises

Can we just talk about hw abysmally small the giant tortoises are ingame? Like, they're barely up to a person's ankle. This is how big they can get in real life. They desperately need a size buff

Edit: the Thing about Reptiles growing their entire Lives is wrong

Reptiles (at least some of them, including Tortoises) grow their entire Life, so I think it should be the same in the Game.
Saltwater Crocodiles should also be able to grow more because as far as I know the largest possible Size in the Game is 5,80m but in Real Life they can sometimes grow to a Size of 7m

Agreed! It even helps Franchise as well in most cases as a way to fix up foliage and space requirements, afaik.
I tried it on franchise and for me, the market stopped working. Everytime i saved and or reloaded a save, all animals would unlist from the market. Maybe it was a one time bug for me, idk, but i uninstalled and continued to play "normally" as i really like franchise haha

This is mostly due to how the tortoises are measured by the engine, a case similar to that of Bactrian camels. The values that are supposed to be carapace length only are extrapolated on to the entire model, so they include the neck and head which makes them smaller than they should be.

I did collect all the data I need for a detailed size feedback thread, but need the time and motivation to compose such a long thread.

What is the problem with the bactrians, in that case?

Completely agree about the tortoises. I can understand not having them continue to grow throughout their entire life, as Planet Zoo's coding doesn't appear to resize except when they age to adult.

Currently in the game, animals continue to grow up to a certain age after they reach maturity

With the tortoises it’s very old as close to a hundred in the Galapagos and over it with Aldabras, and I’m uncertain if it’s actually too much or not.
With salties, it’s 80 years old, which is actually far too old, as they get near their final size at 20 and finish growing at 50 in real life (though I am fairly certain that the maximum size is still too small).

Either way, the reptiles don’t continue to grow their entire lives in real life, but instead finish at a certain age which is sometimes old when compared to mammals and birds.

I know that the Animals grow for some Time in the Game or are at least supposed to do so (don't remember if they fixed the Bug that stopped it from working)

Thanks for clarifying this. Are you sure it is 80 Years for the Saltwater Crocodile? I've tried for a Eternity to breed one that is bigger than 5,80m and if I remember correctly, one of them stopped growing around the Age of 45 Years (maybe it isn't the same for each Animal of the same Species?
Don't want to spread Misinformation, so I'll edit my Post
