Gift Copys of 'Dangerous' from Steam able to activate after Horizons Launch?

Hail Commanders,

ED is on steam-sale right now for 12€. I would like to pick one or two up as a Gift for that excellent Price. The Question is: Can i (or my potential Buddy) still activate the Game, once Horizon is out and the classic Dangerous is disappeared out of the Shop? I got noone to gift it right now but there are some Guys which could be interested. I would buy them just in case but i don´t wanna have them laying a life long in my Inventory and i can´t do anything with it. So a bit of Info would be nice.

I'm interested too! Would buy it for my good friend, but only when he gets Horizons too... Please tell us, when you got a answer from the devs!

Not everyone will have Horizons, i'll just have ED 1.5 for example and be perfectly fine.
I see no reason at all why your gift copy shouldn't activate.
If they sold that with a time limit attached, they would have needed to advertise that, else you'll be eligible for a refund.
I have no doubt you'll be fine with gifting those copies.
