Gifting a copy of the game

Hi guys, i have brought myself a copy, but intend to buy one for my dad for Xmas, I'd prefer to keep it secret until the day, but obviously need to enter his email address and details to gift it to him.

Is there any way i can do this without spoiling the surprise?

I don't think there is a way to do it via the backer app. I could be wrong..

You could create a new email address for your Dad, and register it with that. When the time comes you could change the registered email address to your Dads regular email, and forward any emails you get from Frontier in the mean time.

Yeah i think i may have to do it that way. Thanks for the quick response.

I have to say i literally cannot wait for the beta, looking forward to this more than Xmas this year :p

I'd use the gift option, but have your email address instead. You'll get notified of when it becomes available etc, so your poor old dad won't have to worry as his loving and obviously caring son/daughter is doing all the leg work for him. Come release, just give him the appropriate details.. ?

Well, in my backer's app, I have the option (under extras) of adding an additional digital copy of ED...

If you do the gift, then you get to choose you "Commander" name, not sure if that applies if you just get an extra digital copy.

Sparticus gifted me my package. I got nothing from FD telling me he had gifted me. I didn't get the newsletter. I didn't even get a email saying hi. Nada. So you can gift it to your dad and he'll know nothing because they tell you nothing and he will see nothing on his backer app. It will not show he has anything. They said they are adding me this month to the newsletter. (he gifted me 2 months ago.) Not sure when it comes out but nothing so far. I didn't get to choose my Commander name or NPC name. But that's OK, Sparticus just used my Forum name for both and that works. Since they extended it to Sunday, I'd suggest getting it done now if you're going to gift him mate. If there is a problem later you can always PM Ashley. I'm sure your dad is going to love it. Nice on ya mate. :cool:
