Gifting a preorder

Hi, I was wonder if I can buy a pre-order and gift it to someone else?

does anyone know if this is possible in the new store?

Personally I do not know because I have committed during the Kickstarter. But take your time to explore in the new store. It is nice and you should find the information

Yes I also backed Elite in the kickstarter. But I would now like to pre-order a copy for my friend, but I cant see any option for this in the store.

I will ask on the store and see.

If you do not see it, then it does not exist. But yes, send a question on the new store is a good solution. Perhaps they can do that for you. Otherwise you can always order for your friend by giving his email and contact information and, of course, by paying for him

Easiest way would be to create a new account and send the username/password. Would need a new web email though.

I was wondering this myself... Could you achieve the same thing by buying it with a temporary e-mail address and changing it to your friends once the purchase is done?

Yes you can change your email address in the store. This might be technically against their TOS (e.g. age limit?) but I don't think they'd care or be able to find out.

Hi Dan,

I thought I messed up when i ordered 2 extra digital downloads on my account but they were for my Sons. and didnt order them as gifts. i asked this question and here's the reply from Frontier.

"Hi Neil,

Thanks for getting in contact. They don't have to be gifted necessarily, whilst we are a little way off release (so this may change) what will probably happen is that once the game is ready to be downloaded we will email you 2 additional game keys, which you will then be free to distribute how you like.
