Horizons Gimbals nerf, did it not make it from BETA?

I've read the update changes and unless I am missing it, there is no mention regarding the gimbal tracking arc change or sensor change.

Much time was spent testing and commenting those mechanics as it was a BETA hot topic.

Must have missed the decision for go/ no-go.

the gimbal/sensor changes were reverted and announced even before the beta period ended.
the shield/booster changes were reverted without any announcement before the release.

I was away for the holidays, I ran a search on the topic and got no results matching, hence my post.

Must say a lot of us put extended work on that proposal. Towards what purpose?

I thought from the FD statements they were being strongly considered, as well as the shield/booster mechanics.

Thank you all for the quick replies.

I wasn't sure what to think of the result, regarding the shield and booster changes. The aim of the beta testing appeared to be looking at reducing the heavy shields, and even making armoring (and the Federal Mediums) more prominent.

But the result in 2.2.03 would appear to be the opposite of that intent? My strong shields would appear to be even stronger now that before, thanks to the more rapid regeneration (unless I'm missing something). And on my Type-9, the engineered resistances are still like +50 or so, which would mean very little change there.

Unfortunately this leaves the Federal Mediums in the same place they were, outside of gaining Module Protection Systems. Again, I may misinterpret this based on the numbers. I need to get out in my FAS and see how it handles taking damage with the Class 5 Bi-Weave at 200MJ, over a 2000 strength Hull + dual Module Protectors. But I'm not sure I'll prefer it to my FdL with it's 700MJ resistances shield, which may never drop in the first place.

But, perhaps the faster regenerating Bi-Weaves will be more useful that I first thought.

I agree with you regarding what to think about it as well.

I did a lot of experimenting with shields/armament in the BETA, I go more by feel than by numbers. My Corvette didn't behave that much differently in the BETA w/ the changes. The most noticeable was TTK due to the gimbal arc change and sensors, it was longer.

In PvE, the proposed shields/booster changes weren't of note and seemed a wash.

Maybe it wasn't worth implementation or they just wanted to give us some busy work before the update to keep us happy.

I think there is truth in this. Kept us quiet over the holiday period.

Personally, I thought it was great, because with more spare time available at this time, I was able to test out ships I might otherwise not have bought. Also, I could experiment with Engineer loadouts without running around for materials, so it galvanized me into upgrading my ships in the main game.

I wasn't too happy with the tracking angle reduction in the beta, but sensor dependant tracking would have been fine. And why the shield changes didn't make it in completely baffles me.
