GIVE me a KEG of BEER now!

Let me explain how this works community and maybe you will understand why all types of players are needed for everyone to have the experiences they are having. I will try to explain how we are all connected in someway or another while playing this game.

1. Without the criminal element or pirate players there would be no sense of danger for PVP style players.

2. Without the criminal element or PVP style player there would be no more patrols in the starter systems and I will never get pulled out of hyperspace again by a player on patrol in a ferdelerlance that said.[wacko] DIRECT: GIVE ME A KEG OF BEER NOW and LEAVE THE SIDE WINDERS ALONE. That was funny and I loved it.

3. Without the grievers there would not be any endgame for players. Some players have fixed their ships just to destroy the grievers or whatever you call these players. (They are needed for the community like it or not) And once in a while my wing goes searching for them.

4. Without the slave traders (I hate slave trader, I really do) but for my fantasy I need them.

5. Without the cocky fighter pilot or get gud people and the modest individuals there is no real cohesive communtity here on the forums to coexist with the actual game. I do not think FD intended to have a whole galaxy singing KUM BY YA.

6. The other day an explorer was asking for an escort. Why did he need an escort? Because it is dangerous.
There are more examples but I'm tired of writing.

One flaw in all that that breaks it down. Combat logging.

Your right, i'm pretty rubbish at shooting things down. I get there but i'm not very good at it.

I've also never logged, but it's happened to me. It's very frustrating, if you have pulled me out of super cruise at least have the decency to blow up when I finally get you to that point.

I agree with the op though, the game needs all sorts. ( except loggers )

So you start by stating you are going to explain why all player types are needed, then go ahead and do nothing but justify the existence of hardcore pew-pewers?

Yeah, that helps a lot.

Hey Eponymous sometimes a few words can help a reader comprehend the message the author is trying to convey. I am trying to say all of you are important to the development of the game and the experiences you all are having (negative or positive).

The games life depends on all types of players whether we make up names for them or not. There is rarely advertisement for the game but a pew player if thats what you want to call them may tell a player on the fence about buying the game it is good because of the experiences he is having which grows the community thus promoting the continued support of the game. There might be a player that just buys the game for space cart wheels all of these players are important. I purchased the game because of a trailer I saw on youtube and in the movie theater of two cobras diving. However, I researched and fell into obsidian ants youtube videos. I think he (ANT) is more explorer than combat. Don't worry when MUNGO sees this post he always does a good job of clarifying OP threads.

Thanks fly safe O7

I can arrange that,You can use a good kiss!

Now wait just a darn minute. Are you telling me that they called the game Elite: Dangerous because sometimes things might be a little bit...dangerous? How frightfully disingenuous of them.

But seriously, in a galaxy where everybody and his dog has an armed space ship, there are bound to be a few psychos. Not that the players themselves are psychos, of course, but they are kind of role playing it.

If I were to be stopped by an actual pirate simply demanding cargo in exchange for my life, I'd probably submit just for the sake of the experience (but it helps knowing that I'm big and tough enough to survive long enough to high wake it out of there if he decides to try to blow me out of the stars anyway).

Variety is is the spice of life.

The title of the game has nothing to do with space being dangerous. It's a common misconception and is always used to justify something, like, "it's not called elite carebear". I will find the link to more direct information and post it in an edit.

It's referencing the Dangerous COMBAT rank so it's still a valid argument to make. Even if it wasn't then there is "cutthroat galaxy" etc..

Its my own pet peeve, but it was stated by FD that the name is only referencing the rank and has nothing to do with the galaxy being dangerous. Use the cut throat galaxy to quote the game having an element of danger in it, cool. Cause without the danger, it does get boring for some.

Personally... I've found the NPC's more dangerous than any pew pew types I've come across on my travels...or at least the ones who've interdicted me so far anyway.

Might get a change soon when their decked out Robigo Vettes at some point get the patience to work for upgrades to their ships. Insta shield dropping torps + corrosive MCs.

I'll just be somewhere they're not... let them rebuy eachother to death before they get bored and move onto something else :)
