Give pre purchasers a couple day head start

Since there's not going to be a wipe perhaps you could give pre purchasers a couple day head start to reduce launch day woes? Pretty pretty please?

Pre-purchasers do get a couple day head-start. They can play the combat scenarios and tutorials and get their skills ready for release.

Won´t happen CMDR and I think it doesn´t help starting 3 threads about it.
I mean it is 8 days ahead. Some of us waited for nearly 30 years for that and many of us are Alpha backers who paid right from the very start when there was nothing at all.
Play the demo and learn some tricks and things. Just a few days ahead, you can make it.

Cheers,
Robin

I didn't start any other threads about it.

Totally understand how early access should be special for bavkers. Couldn't resist asking.

I've got no problem with the idea of waiting 'til the 16th to grab my 100Cr and go lose my first Sidewinder, but it'd be great if we could get access to the other tutorials. If my performance in the combat tutorials is anything to go by I may need a bit of practice with my docking! (which brings back so many memories ofthe 80s, lol). It'd also be nice if we could get access to the section of https://support.orerve.net/ that would allow us to register our CMDR name, before it all gets snarled up on the day (sort of part of the point of pre-ordering, imo).

If it makes you feel any better, the game is not really competitive, so you won't really be at a disadvantage. Practice those controls, get your aim right, get used to energy management, get used to how the ship feels and controls. That is what will stand to you on day 1, especially if you are a combat pilot in the game. It will stand to traders too, as you will be docking and undocking a lot, and knowing how to fly gets you out of some sticky situations.

See you on the 16th, CMDR.

If you wanted a head start you should have invested in beta or gamma. You can't expect to get it before the release date.

Wow guys. I am new to the community and I asked an innocent question and I feel like you all are coming down hard on me. Sorry for asking such an offensive question.

So guys there is no wipe coming on the games full release? Sorry i aint been around been busy with life etc.

Well if you just want an answer then the answer is no. It is probably not happening. If you wanted an explanation, then people are explaining for you.

The latest word is that there apparently will be no wipe on release. This has surprised a lot of people. I'm not sure on what to think of it myself.

I'd agree with everything there. Docking in the original games was pretty easy, it looks far harder in Dangerous.

This^ You have to have played to game to realize it's technically a multiplayer game but solo in every respect. You will be hard pressed to find anyone after a week unless you hang at the story systems. Most people will be in solo grinding hard before going multi. The pvper will do their best to have fun with each others but with the traders/explorers/miners in solo it should make for a nice ffa dm and then they will run after each others for bounty.

I have played nothing but multi in gamma and saw maybe 6 guys, 2 of which talked to me. First i explored then i played with trading, had a few fight, never with anyone. The first time you load the galaxy and see with your eyes what 400billion system is, and then realize you only saw the x/y axis and you start moving up or down on the Z axis and stop before coming to an end, youll get zen about the whole thing lol. Just have fun.

Docking is one of my fave activities - especially at outstations.

I like coming in at crazy angles, just missing that tower and then pulling round at the last second and seeing how far off centre i am. Good fun!

I am a trader/miner in Open... proving your statement is false :)

Its not offensive and there should be no questions that cannot be answered by the community.

We as a community ( including yourself you are part of the community) have a big role to play in the success of ED and from a relative newbie (4 months) i would not have got to grips without the help and support found here.

Fortunately for you, you are going to have the full release experience, so forget head starts, just jump into the game and ask whatever question you need to.

No one is sure yet if the forum will be the same at release in terms of format but i guess there will be the stickies and FAQ sections in some shape.

It will be your game, make mistakes and learn, no one is going to know what you did right/wrong except you.

Unless of course you post in here all about them :D

Anyone know How many ppl currently have access?

The kickstarter campaign had 25.000 backers, though not all of them had beta access I guess. There have been many more beta backers after the campaign. The subreddit of ED has 15.000 subscribers (again, no idea how many of those have access to beta/gamma). My guess would be a few tens of thousands of players currently having access. Doesn't mean theay are all actively playing. Some people decided to wait until there will be no more wipes (and it was only announced yesterday that indeed there won't be another wipe on the 16th).
