Give pre purchasers a couple day head start

Its not offensive and there should be no questions that cannot be answered by the community.

We as a community ( including yourself you are part of the community) have a big role to play in the success of ED and from a relative newbie (4 months) i would not have got to grips without the help and support found here.

Fortunately for you, you are going to have the full release experience, so forget head starts, just jump into the game and ask whatever question you need to.

No one is sure yet if the forum will be the same at release in terms of format but i guess there will be the stickies and FAQ sections in some shape.

It will be your game, make mistakes and learn, no one is going to know what you did right/wrong except you.

Unless of course you post in here all about them :D

It would be awesome to have a forum of "stupid things I've done" where people share their funny stories!

I am a trader/miner in Open... proving your statement is false :)

I AM trading and exploring in open space and according to forum post and general logic we are part of the few, the proud =) I guess around the SOL system there's stuff(with real people) going around, i didnt buy a game with 400billion star system to hang around earth lol!

. Most people will be in solo grinding hard before going multi. The pvper will do their best to have fun with each others but with the traders/explorers/miners in solo it should make for a nice ffa dm and then they will run after each others for bounty.
IMO you are wrong, most pvp start at open play. And atleast 50% new people is pvpers, from space mmo (eve), You will see more players nere your ship, alot more in hub systems where good trade routes are.

Since there's not going to be a wipe perhaps you could give pre purchasers a couple day head start to reduce launch day woes? Pretty pretty please?

Don't worry about launch day woes. There won't be any worth worrying about. Just get used to flying the ship and all the controls and away you go.
I have NO trouble and I'm 67.

I'd agree with everything there. Docking in the original games was pretty easy, it looks far harder in Dangerous.

I thought the exact opposite couldn't wait to buy that docking computer in the original game.
Find it far easier in elite dangerous.

Hmm, then again wouldn't it be unfair to give Beta backers and the preorder guys a head start over the regular players that will buy the game at release?

I say, for the sake of fairness FD should not give anyone a head start and instead release the game RIGHT NOW!!!

If the docking computer hadn't been in the game, you'd have had to get good at docking. Knowing the docking computer was there, you got lazy and didn't bother to master it or once you had the computer you forget (until it got destroyed in battle).

Yeah! Even better!!!! Release now!! ;)

It was a pain to dock ,obviously I could do it otherwise I wouldn't have been able to buy the docking computer.
In ED I tried the computer just for the music but sold it as it was too slow.

The way I see it, the Alpha & Beta backers, who have already been playing the game for *months* now, have an advantage.

That advantage is in *experience*.

I have said for awhile, when there has been some doubt as to when the final resets would be, that it would be more fair that everybody start off on a level footing come public release day. Same stats, same cash. Some of us do have the 'advantage' of different starter ships, but really, what good is a 'better' ship with out the experience to use it?

Indeed, those of us who have been playing for months now, know how to fly, shoot, land, figure out good trades and best jump plots. These are little things that can mean, by the end of the first week, we will have better ships and credit reserves then players who probably have 'lost it all' atleast once in that first week.

I hope what I say is making sense. Still waking up :D

You know one thing that would have been really nice to see in preorder trainer, is a station. I would think that would be quite helpful before the official release for people to get a head start refining their docking procedures.

Don't see how early access or trying to get a head start on this game is important considering that the galaxy is so big in the game chances are you'll see less then 2 other players in one day that happens to be in the same system as you, if you play open mode.
