Right now. Faction Ranks are just useful for some Permits and Allow you to buy certain Ships.
I think. They should have more Relevance.
So.
1.
Allow Players to Set an Active Allegiance of Superpower.
This Allegiance can be recalled after 2 Weeks at a loss of Rank and Reputation.
+If you Join another Allegiance within 2 Weeks that loss will be Doubled.
2.
Having an Active Allegiance will give you some Perks depending on your Rank in the Superpower Faction.
A Daily Salary,
Permits to that Factions Systems,
Permission to Buy certain Ships,
Discounts inside that Superpowers Systems,
Access to Special Missions for that Superpower,
Reputation Bonus for all Minor Factions aligbed to that Superpower.
This of course comes with some Duties.
You are Automaticly Considered on that Superpowers side in Conflicts,
Reputation Penalty will all Minor Factions aligned to other Superpowers,
You cannot Participate in Community Goals of other Superpowers,
3.
Pls note.
You only get the Perks while your Allegiabce is Active.
So even if you have the Rank.
You cant Buy a Cutter unless you are Aligbed with the Empire etc.
4.
Reputation Bonus and Malus.
The Bonus and Malus depends on your Rank.
If you are a High Ranking Imperial Nobleman.
Minor Factions of the Empire will be Friendly by default.
But Federation Minor Factions have such a big Malus that cannot reach Friendly Status.
A lower Ranking Nobleman meanwhile will just be Accepted by Imperial Factions by Default. But while unable to reach Allied Status he can get on Friendly terms even with Federal Factions.
5.
Unlike Powerplay.
This is a Passive Background Status.
So you dont need to Actively do Missions for that Faction once your Rank has been Archieved.
Rewards and Salary are of course Lower too.
This would give a bit more Reward for the Rank Grind and a bit more Accountability to Factions.
Of course Staying Independent and thus being able to Ally with all Minor Factions would also have Value etc.
So its always a Tradeoff.
