Give the DEVS a break - It's nearly Christmas & New Year!

I've played the original Elite, Elite Frontier & Elite First Encounters and now Elite Dangerous ... I love all of them :D

Not sure why there are so many peeps complaining about glitches / bugs etc and trolling about them on these forums? A lot of them are neither just the individual player not thinking enough Eliteness! ;)
This is what I imagined all three previous versions could be in my own mind ... my imagination takes me everywhere, to infinity and beyond ;)

There was a relatively smooth launch of the game (for the majority of people) ... it's only going to get better and better as time goes on I assure you, I have complete faith in the DEVS <3

Why? It's their job. They should do it

+1

My work place doesn't give me a break except for Christmas and new years, why should they be so special? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they're doing what they're doing... really, I think the OP just doesn't have a job. :D

I have a job, I work at a school (16 days Christmas Holidays now, perks of the job)
I'm sure the DEVS and I could teach you a thing or two ... Six weeks for the Summer as well, if that's not clever I don't know what is?

Yep I hope the devs all have a great Christmas and a well earned break when the time comes.
But in the end they chose to release this time of year - I certainly wouldn't have - and because of that they will be busy. That's life.

I think if working on the release of an epic game people have been waiting 20+ years for was not something they wanted to be doing, they wouldn't be in this game in the first place.

It's a business, it's also a team of people, the business should operate 24/7. They all take leave at different times of year. A business in itself is not religious and therefore xmas or time of year is irrelevant.

Absolutely. This is a company, their product, their jobs, and they have to be held to a standard just like every other company. Being a "fanboi" (not calling OP one, speaking generally here) hurts everyone, including the developers. ED still needs a LOT of work. It was released before it was ready and a lot of stuff is broken. (Faction rep, system turnover, trading etc) The last thing they need is their customer base telling them that everything is great, we have to keep reporting bugs and putting on some pressure to make changes and fixes.

It will come in time, don't be so impatient ...
ROME wasn't built in a day and neither was Elite Dangerous!

Hear hear! +1

They chose to release just before Christmas. For money.

So they absolutely should be working hard for the money.

I hope they at least have Christmas day off though ;)

Have some empathy. They well deserve a break. It's not like the purchase of the game comes with a 24/7 support service...

I've encountered some minor bugs but nothing game-breaking that couldn't wait to be fixed until next year.

Skyrim was released November 2011 and I dare to say it was more buggy (remember the backwards flying dragons?) at launch than ED. They released a few patches before Christmas (the last was 1.3.1 on Dec 20) and then the next one was over a month later in Jan 23. Miraculously, the players survived that patch-free month and the game became a success...
