Hi ye all,
Well multi-crew with instancing over 10,000LY - that was nearly a game breaker for me. Given up caring up about it (it was that or give up the game).
So 2.3 arrived - and I like a lot, which I really did not expect.
Things I like - mostly QOL.
1) Glide mode to planet instance - a couple of seconds. That is so much better, feels closer to the seemless promised on 2.0 launch. Good job.
2) Holo-me - blimey I am ugly - now for all to see.
3) NPC Pirate interaction - left some telemetary suits on board, got interdicted by 2 DBS - they wanted 2 tons. I ran away, but if I had read their demands, I probably would have given it.
4) No stutter approaching bases and stations in 4K - yeah to that!
5) Camera suite - getting better with it.
6) The Dolphin.
7) The huge buff to exploration income. In 2.2, I would only tavel a few hundred LS to scan something, unless it was really, really interesting. Willing to go 2000LS now, assuming no other time pressures. Really keen to see BGS effects.
8) Camera.
9) Nameplates and naming - got the Pork Chop Express from Big Trouble in Little China for my Python. An Orca, Dolphin and Vulture to name.
On the downside the new Galaxy map was a problem for me.
1) Current got Super Sampling at 0.5x - solves the menu problem, want it back to 1.0 to crispen up the text, can live with it until done - worst for VR cmdrs.
2) Could not click on anything on Galaxy Map - resorted to using search function in Galaxy Map. This seems to be fixed after server maintenance this morning.
So I am really liking 2.3, a lot, lot more than I thought I would.
Given some of the moaning threads - making this place more depressing than normal, though I would post a "Trump style U-turn" from me.
Simon
