Glass barrier and water

Hey lovely folks,

I decided to rebuild my antarctic zoo and can't figure out what's wrong with my penguin habitat. It's supposed to have underwater view, but the view from the guest area doesn't show any water behind the barrier. It's just like normal terrain and all the underwater effects are not visible either while on the penguin's side of the barrier, everything's normal. I'm getting gray hair already since I can't figure out how to fix that. I already deleted all barriers and rebuilt them but nothing worked.

Any advice?

Might be a glitch or a bug. I'd recommend you contact the folks at Frontier.

Also, have you recolored the water? To see if it always looks like that? Like, try coloring it neon green or red, to see if you can actually see the water. Know what I mean?

Yes, I tried alot, including recoloring the water. Penguins were swimming in opaque neon green goo and on the guest's side of the barrier nothing changed.😕

How about running a test to see if water can appear correctly through glass in your zoo file. Make a glass barrier circle, raise it as high as your underwater viewing is and then fill it up with water. Hopeful the water appears correctly and the habitat construction may be to blame for a glitch of some sort.

Yep, tried that and with other glass barriers it works fine. It's only in this habitat, although I deleted and rebuilt the barrier a thousand times. Maybe I should just delete the whole habitat and build it somewhere else :cautious:

I've seen things like this before. Something in the habitat is causing a glitch, most likely a broken piece of terrain breaking the water reflection. Typically deleting the entire habitat and filling up the hole, removing all nearby paths and anything like benches, shops etc should in theory refresh the entire area so you can build again.

Funny enough, if I lower the water to a certain point, it works. siiigh Hours of work... wasted. Gonna rebuild the whole area and try not to dump the whole zoo because of acute MEHness.
Well, look at it this way: maybe, as you redo the habitat, you get an even better idea of what you could do, and make the habitat even better than before

Maybe it's the angles the sunrayes enter the glas? Had something similiar in one of my zoos. All glass panels were fine, only one, which was in an angle to the others, looked like there was no water behind it.
