Glide to planet

This feels different, when approaching a planet, the glide slop section feels very short and the ship speed slows down slower.

The glide can start 35km away from settlement lasting for 3 to 4 seconds. It was much further out im sure.

Surely we need a longer entry glide as before

To initial the glide you have to pass the altitude that's marked on the right side of the HUD. This altitude depends on the stellar body. The glide ends (in my experience) somewhere between an altitude of 10 and 4 Km. You can shorten / lengthen the glide by adjusting your sink angle.

Distance depends on glide angle, I used to glide for several hundred kilometers when searching for unmarked bio and geo sites, so the glide can start a long way from the settlement, but the steeper the angle of approach to the settlement the shorter the glide distance. It feels unchanged for me and I have had a lot of experience in gliding down before Odyssey.

That is the Baton method... Oh my, so many (frustrating) memories !

Baton and I did it for ages before geo sites were marked with yellow POI's, I explored entire planets in glide...but if you want to call it the Baton method sure, we're good friends, he deserves it.

Sorry, I didn't want to offense... We used this method to survey geo POI during our expeditions back in the time. The satisfaction to find something in the end, after hours and hours of glide, was relieving !
