Global discount, what does it mean?

I have completed the community mission, but the reward cannot be used at this station. Is the global reward meant as system wide or universe wide??

so by the look of it nobody knows how the reward works.

I should receive 10% discount on slaved, but when will it start or do they have to reboot for it to work.

The discount applies to the station you did the community goal for. All the "global" means is it's a reward for the community goal that everyone who signed up gets, regardless of what percentage tier they fall under.

Except the station in question dont even sell Imperial slaves-so how does that work exactly?

I do understand how that would work.

You have said exactly what I would of said. The station does not sell the slaves, so why have a community goal which clearly will never apply to the station?

We all know FDev have made fluff ups in the past, but is this one of their clear fluff ups? A community reward should be a reward no matter which station you are in if it is a Imperial Community goal. Imperial slaves in Imperial space cost reduction should be the reward and not a reward you will never be able to collect.

the problem is, there is no discount. what ever the listed price is, when i make a purchase, the discount should be there. it is not. if it said 1000/slave, i should be paying 900.

When I arrived, saw no Imperial Slaves for sale, I did 2 tours of the warzone then bugged out to do better stuff. I did the right thing it seemed...

EDIT: My usual haunt got high suppply IS at 15.7k, sell it 1 jump away for med demand at 16.8k. 10% off low supply price is awful...

Maybe you're checking the wrong station?

ya this is not reward. so ya your getting a cheap price on low supply. i can get near that buying price in other stations and don't have to search out a new trade route of take my t9 way out of the way for a piddly reward. A real reward would have been 10% Imperial Slave in Imperial Space. I would understand if you didn't get the discount in Independent stations but it should apply to any station controlled by Imperials. Super lame reward on a community goal that's really hard to the highest tier. And low payout to boot. I won't be participating in one of those style events again.

My thoughts exactly

The crux of the issue is that apparently greed took over and a lot of people deluded themselves into thinking it was a galaxy-wide discount. There's been no precedent to imply that this one would be different. It's for that very reason that I didn't bother wasting my time.

A 10% or higher galaxy-wide discount on Imperial Slaves has the potential to outstrip Seeking Luxeries in cr/h. I can think of several 6 minute runs off the top of my head. In an Anaconda. A T9 would take longer obviously. With the economy fixes, it's almost common sense that this isn't what it was going to be, beyond the lack of precedent with previous events.

The terraforming goals would have been a much wiser time investment imo.

No, the crux of the issue is that there were over 1500 cmdrs involved with this and FD didn't realize there'd be a problem with supply, because 1500 cmdrs would be descending on that station. So now we have a 10% discount, but the low supply has basically killed the discount.

Ok now we are able to buy slaves, but where is my 10% reduction in price????

By my calculations my 10% cut price should make my price as 13,794, but as it looks I am still playing full price.

Assuming you're basing it on the sell price? Or your maths is bad. Gal avg=16485-1648.5=14836.5
BUT the low supply has messed with the calculations, because that's how supply prices are worked out.

but still WE are not getting the correct value for the Imperial Slaves. Before the community event slaves cost 15,300 ish, after its close to the same price, so what's the difference? As for my Maths, 10% of the value of the slaves at the moment is actually correct, do the maths.

Still if we are not receiving the reduction, then why are we not receiving it.

The pricing is correct. As people mentioned earlier its based on a low supply though.

15327 is 90% of x
15327 = .90x
x = 17030.

So if it wasn't for the discount we would be paying 17030 credits per ton of slaves which sounds about right on a low supply.

I still agree FD screwed up on this though.
