Global discount, what does it mean?

The pricing is correct. As people mentioned earlier its based on a low supply though.

15327 is 90% of x
15327 = .90x
x = 17030.

So if it wasn't for the discount we would be paying 17030 credits per ton of slaves which sounds about right on a low supply.

I still agree FD screwed up on this though.

I have to say that before the community event the slaves were 15,700 ish, so by what you are saying, as the galactic price higher than the price which they were before the community event we can only buy the slaves at a smaller cut down price because the galactic price is 17,030? Sorry this is totally stupid and makes no sense. Just like all the other community goal when it comes to combat missions the played looses out once again.

It should be the price at the time of the event minus 10% and not the galactic highest price minus 10%.

Its just another total waist of time even which Fdev clearly have no idea as to what they are doing.

They play around with trade routes to stop players making cash, now they stuff up events, what is next the new update? I bet we will end up with 6 patches to fix problems which should of been solved before the patch comes to use the user.

Remember it was 15700 ish but they didn't SELL slaves, they only BOUGHT them at very low demand. Discount for the CMDR"s was supposed to be off the BUY price, not the SELL price. At 15700 ish the BUY price would have been 17444 (ish..lol) but they DIDN'T sell them. Once they did sell them their SUPPLY was EQUAL to DEMAND which was LOW. The math is right but they screwed up on the supply. If they would have made it a HIGH or MED supply station then the BUY price would have been either low to mid 16000's. 10% off of that price and we should be able to BUY in the 14000's.

Dornier before they sold I. Slaves

I have attached a picture of Dornier before they SOLD Imperial slaves. As stated before we got a 10% discount on a horrible price. I did just notice something though. The demand was set to HIGH. With a HIGH demand they should have been paying more for the Imperial slaves. Like 17000...not in the 15000's. But it still screws everything up. Demand should have been set to LOW so they had a HIGH supply. Screw it all though. I am done worrying about it.

Whut? How many times do I have to explain this? OKok, deep breaths...First off, Galactic avg doesn't mean the highest price in the galaxy, it means average price in the galaxy, plz don't make me explain what average means, I've just woken up. The community goal then takes this average price,which going by that pic is still 16485, does a 10% discount on it, which should've given us a price of 14836, which people would've been happy with. Unfortunately, FD didn't reckon on the trading sim affecting the price, because they were obviously gonna have supply problems. Dunno if you know or not, but the trading sim governing all goods adjusts it's price based on supply. So, no, the discount wasn't based on a crappy price, under 15k for imp slaves is a nice deal. But FD didn't think it through properly.

Thank you for your explanation on them using the Galactic Average as the base price. That at least makes since. Under 15k imperial slaves (that's what i was expecting) would be nice but that is not what you are getting them for. You are getting them for 15.3k. I can find them for sale near that price as is without a discount. And yes FD didn't think it through properly. They are very consistent in that.

I don't see any problem with the prices, they do get a 10% discount.

The problem seem to be people buying them immediately when in supply so the supply is prepetually low or they ran out of it, flipping the supply into demand. If nobody is buying, i reckon it will get into high supply within half a day or so and you will get a killer deal. Of course nobody buying is not gonna happen.

On the other hand, if they nail the supply so it does not go down we get another Performance Enhancer boom type of situation in our hand, and that stirs a LOT of vitriol...

Ok soo giving people a way to make a little more cash w/ trading is bad, but they give a global discount on ship of 20% witch is about 30 millions on an anaconda... We fought for the empire, the discount should be for all the stations owned by the empire.

I agree with you totally, but as its clear on here all are hard work means nothing to FDev. Somebody plays with the figures and says the price should be X value and others say it should be Y value. But if you look around neighbouring systems which have a high price for selling Imperial slaves, around 16.500 credits, then you will clearly see how badly treated out of profit all the people are who put hours into the community goal. But still people who think they know best will say the value of the slaves will be 17,000 credits because they use 15,300 as a base figure of 90%.

As this subject is totally pointless to these people nothing will ever be sorted out. I think we can all agree that this community event sucks compaired to the traders missions where a reward is 2.5 million credits just for delivering 2000 tons of cargo.
