Go Karts

Is anyone else seeing their guests refuse to ride the go karts? I've tried a couple different tracks, one with a higher excitement rating than the other, but the guests just won't ride either one. They have attendants I've tried everything I know, but nothing works, and there aren't any guests' thoughts showing on the ride options box either ("ride x is too expensive," "Ride x is too scary," etc.).

Testing required to see if it's a bug.

So, ideas.

1) Make a new test park and the only ride is going to be go karts.
2) Park entry is free and the go karts are free also.
3) One tiny clump of shops and facilities by the entrance of the ride so guests have to go there.
4) Test all that.
5) Add more rides but give them a price to see if guests will use them but ignore the free go karts.

Hopefully after this you have some clues.

It could be that guests don't like something but I agree it would be strange for all guests to dislike.

The single Go Karts I built in Campaign never got scenery rating, it just stayed at 0%, and so the Prestige was very low.
Not sure if it was a fluke or if Go Karts are bugged right now.

Edit: Tested again with a lot of scenery and special effects: 0% scenery rating, only 192 prestige

So, I followed MrHappy's idea (more or less) and put a plain go kart track with good excitement rating near the entrance of a new sandbox park (with default settings) and looked at the thoughts of guests milling near the queue entrance. Apparently, they think even $0.50 is too much to pay to ride the Go Karts, so I set it to free and, boom, they practically ran into the queue.

Then, I tried a blueprint with good excitement rating and scenery (maybe then they'd be willing to pay something, and it did start out with a higher prestige # than the plain one), and again, they wouldn't ride it until I set the price to $0.

Conclusion: DEFINITELY a bug. And also the graphics on the cars are seriously glitchy -- looks like the flickering you get when you have scenery pieces stacked over each other.

It is a bug, but not a huge one as you think it is:

Let me help you through it:

1.) set the price to bargain, it should set 0.00
2.) let the guest cycle through it
3) the bargain price is set

Sometimes guests need to cycle throuh a ride until you have your minimum price.

But yes go karts are a bit bugged, since the don't get any scenery rating at all, so they mostly run at low prestige and prestige is the ride attraction rating, so i mostly get one or two lone riders at the ride and only if the park is packed.

Yeah mine don't ride at all, need to wait on a queue then change the minimum load times to anything different than before, they get on and do 1 lap (even if its set to 3).. repeat the process. Changing the load times each time is the only way i've found to get them to jump into the station and into the karts.

They wont ride mine at all , even with the price at 0
Yeah, I noticed that too when there are other rides in the park. I'm guessing it has something to do with excitement/fear ratings being too low for the guests (never mind that a lot of RL coaster/thrill ride enthusiasts also love things like go karts). -shrugs-

The other thing I noticed when I put a go kart track into an established park is that no matter what load setting I used (full, half, quarter, any), the few guests who would get on just sat there until I closed the ride (it never started).

For scenery bonus to be applied, the ride (any ride) needs to complete one full circuit. The easiest way to do this is to test the ride fully and once the test has fully completed, the scenery rating will update, which will make the rides more attractive to guests and therefore more likely to get used. I hope this helps.
