Actually we still haven't had a station that doesn't support automatic rotational correction yet have we? There should be outpost stations that don't support that or automated docking computers.

I believe that's already confirmed by way of the docking computer really being the station taking over your controls (can't remember where I saw that bit of canon)

I wouldn't turn it off permanently, but I've been known to turn if off to save bother.

Sometimes the pad is overhead. Why fly up and turn round when you can position yourself over where the dock is going to be in a few moments, turn off correction and allow the station to rotate the dock into place. Turn it on again for final decent.

Thanks Commanders! Now I want to do it cleaner and faster!
It could be a new competition. Speed docking without FA and RC.

Various sources but Newsletter 17 was the first mention I remember of certain stations not having rotational assistance:

Some stations will provide automatic rotational assistance to make docking easier. Of course not all stations come with this luxury and for players in the alpha wanting to see this they can turn off the assistance in their in-cockpit options.
For the truly skilful player there is an art in turning off the rotational correction and flight assist for a full manual landing, it’s a thing of beauty when done correctly!

You just know that the first station that pops up without this is going to spark another huge forum posting war.
