How do i work for the empire?

Do i just fly there and start doing missions gaining rank or do i have to shoot some alliance ships to be able to get missions in the first place?

Currently i only got a hauler so shooting is kinda hard at the moment. :p

Any directions where i should go to to find the empire. ;)

Great choice and welcome to the Empire my friend,

if you're in fed/ind space there is 1 system Liaedin which is the nearest but it kinda stands alone away from the rest of Imperial territory, still it's a great place to get an Imperial campaign started ;)
If you want to head over to full Imperial space then you have a trip on your hands.

They hold back some assignments, but warm up easily when you have a nice upgoing arrow there. it is very inspirational when they turn green. :)

Me and My "wing" are based out of there right now getting some Rep sorted and preparing to head to Empire proper when we have some standing, As all Beta backers get into SOL for free at release do we know if this is the Same in Archenar?

On a slightly related note: I am green with ~5 imperial subfactions but haven't had any change with the empire so far (no complaint, it's great that it's taking some time). Did you manage to achieve an imperial rank yet?
