Newcomer / Intro Going mad, mapping for trade !!!!!!!!!!!! Help!!!!!!!!!!!

Fellow CMDRS. I've come to a crossroads in my sanity. Been muddling (IMHO) with the galaxy map for a while now. What's frustrating me to be fare, is the fact you tend to have multi-industrial planets in any one system. Along with the fact that your max jump range is NOT defined for you (like the good old days elite84 lol). Let me try and explain....

Currently, I understand the concept of different industries on trading between systems. Since the update..... I use "SLOPEY's" trade tool as a guide only to trading. That is, it tells you the trading products and prices, but when you get there it normally 40 plus credits more or less. I tend to have about 6 stops before returning back to base, earning me approx. 800,000-1million (ASP=92 units).
My confusion is this.
(1) Why isn't a system with different industrial planets in it more profitable as apposed to trading over longer distances (NOT RARE GOODS).
(2) Why is the map showing more star systems than your ships jump range. Yes, you need to see the bigger picture, but the colours are blended/similar, finding a planet that's within your range isn't shown on the map as you zoom out to find it. Then, when you enter the name it zooms just below your current planet to show it ... Why isn't the search box predictive text, just for those whom cant spell them planet names ha ha. (old git).
Soooo ED. Developers, can you give US...MEEEEEEE.
star systems with colours that don't blend.
A stronger definition between jump range and current location. Cant you just put current location in a bubble.
Show ALL star systems within the jump range.
Why not have a split galaxy map. (1) for local star systems. (2) galaxy map.
If I'm going about this wrong CMDRS, please throw me a life boat lol.. thanks for reading...

1) That's not generally true, every place in the galaxy is different.
2) Most of us power traders do trades that require more than one jump. Because that juicy extraction planet just next to that high tech system will probably have saturated markets because of the vicinity. That's basically what NPC traders do. For good trades you usually need to travel more than 20 LY.

I agree that it would be nice to have a visible "bubble" on the galaxy map showing your jump range. But for most trades i am leaving that bubble. Ok, asp may be an exception here cause you can still have more than 20 LY jump range fully laden.

What exactly is the problem with jump range? Both the right hand panel and the galaxy map itself will show your maximum jump range at your current tonnage. I'm also not sure what you're asking in your first question.

Also I tend to find that the most profitable two-way routes are between 25-35 light years each leg (as the crow flies anyway). Any closer and those routes tend to dry up real quick, any longer and you spend too much time in transit which hurts your profits. The Asp can jump much further than most cargo haulers though, so you could push it out to over 40 light years if you had to.

You also might want to consider downgrading to a class 3 shield. It'll provide you just as much protection as a class 3 shield on a type-6 and will allow you to fit 120 tons of cargo.
