Going Out with a Bang CG - Thresholds Might Need some Revision

Noticed there was a customer services person active so pointed them to my bug report thread about the Cherets BH CG, they said staff will be back tommorrow so hopefully fix it and maybe extend the timer to make up for the problems.

There's a nice Haz Rez in HR 2635 so far saved up 6m in fed bounties for when they fix it.

I wouldn't even care about the lousy payout of most CGs. It's the CG itself that's a downer. Really nearly all of them. Just look at the Antares one.

We GET THE LOCATION? That's a mighty search. And then there's a fixed salvage site where you can farm a full load of scrap and return it to a station where that scrap is illegal... LYR opens up a lab on a station where the salvage is illegal?

Who comes up with that?

Reminds me of all the "Kill X" missions for things like Pirates ....where only 1 out of every 10 wanted ships is a Pirate.

How else am I suppose to figure out which ship is a pirate?

It's like a joke out of the movie Good Morning Vietnam.

Adrian Cronauer: [impersonating an Intelligence Officer] We've realized that we're having a very difficult time finding the enemy. It isn't easy to find a Vietnamese man named "Charlie." They're all named Nguyen, or Tran, or...
Adrian Cronauer: [as himself] Well, how are you going about it?
Adrian Cronauer: [as Intel Officer] Well, we walk up to someone and say, 'Are you the enemy? And, if they say yes, then we shoot them."

@JoeShmo: for "Kill x pirates missions" it's best to check the system has planets with mineable rings (=RES sites) before accepting. Head to one and you'll actually have pirates helpfully coming over to scan you for cargo, one after another. Keep an eye on your comms for pirates announcing themselves!
You can do this at nav beacons & at asteroid belts too, but it can take forever. Alternatively drop into USS sites & see what attacks you - but this is a risky strategy if flying solo!
RES sites are the safe & efficient way to do these missions, so if it doesn't look like the system has any, best to ignore the mission and wait for one that does.

Like I said, once FD makes CGs rewarding ( screw credits ) and worth our time, participation will skyrocket.
We can expect it'll take months before they do though, if ever.
A good example of a rewarding CG was the christmas one, where us veteran pilots felt like we were doing something worthwhile.
And a brand new Viper Mk.4 for the newbies was a more than worthy goal to spend time shuffling rares back and forth. :D

Being pretty lucrative didn't do it any harm either ;)

As far as the Bang for a Buck one, if FD get the balancing wrong then the CG fails - and I think it's ok for CG's to fail, it's a reflection of how interested the player base is and how well thought out the tiers are.

A different opinion.
Well for me as a newbie, the Cherets CG was ok.

My pockets are empty so "best 60%" for both sub-CG was more than OK. First time I saw 7 figures in the game. (not sure how you guys make "a mil an hour" with a Cobra. I don't think I am getting any close to this rate)

Indeed the "wanted" part was a bit stupid (who knows which of the wanted are actually wanted SPECIFICALLY for the offence in the CG?) and the other part was boring (that outpost was too far from "hyperspace-landing" star).
Yet, I also got some money from scanning the systems, saw some interesting places AND had the ":):):)!" moment when in my second run, right after I reached Cherets a HUMAN (*) pirate just killed me. Made things interesting.

BTW don't know what other "gifts" this CG gave. Anybody?

That said, I am all in for better CG and love when they give extra ships (missed my MkIV chance, hope I get another).

Now two things:

1) Galnet site sucks. At least once I seem to have missed a post that was there in a specific date (did they edit it?). It doesn't have any kind of filtering (someone would expect filtered news in 33 century).

2) About the asterisk above. I hope FD will consider some way of raising a price on the head of a human player by some other human player. While what happened to me was close to real-life (as it was not generated by your servers), I still would expect a fellow human being to be more sensitive than an NPC. He DID waste me about 1 hour of my REAL life (not just virtual) of boring system jumping! But maybe this sounds stupid, yet consider that not all people will find satisfying or acceptable that another (real) person will just go and spoil their fun. I just open this for discussion. And yes I know about Solo Play.
