Newcomer / Intro Going over power limit in my Vulture

I am still testing my vulture.

Got killed 3 times these past 2 days by other CMDR. Once fighting an NPC Python in Convoy zone and not seeing the other CMDR attacking me.
Another time twice by Vulture / Cobra players.

Every time, my shields fell and I was Power less very quickly not being able to run.

My ship is slightly overpowered when the hardpoints are out, had to desactivate cargo.

So could veteran fighters tell me if that kind of configuration is unadvised?

Have you tried setting some modules to lower priority
Frameshift to 2
Scanners to 2
Cargo hatch etc etc etc
Basically anything other than what you really need set to priority 2 or even in some cases priority 3
Frameshift you can stick on 2, you cant fire it up with weapons deployed so priority 1 is pointless.
Have a play se what you can change

Sounds like you haven't set the power management priorities in your modules setup, put the things you don't need in combat at a lower priority, then you won't be left helpless when you deploy hardpoints.

After dying 3 times I did try it today.
Thruster in 1 / FSD in 2, ... and indeed once I was attacked by 5 NPC and managed to run. But then again wasnt against a real player.

It is what I though also but when trying to run and having a CMDR attacking your power plant, FSD being desactivated is really dangerous.

Boost away with FA off, spamming lateral thrust- and retract the hardpoints as you do so. FSD will come back online. Without stopping boosting, you must then activate FSD and stay alive until it's charged. It's a pretty standard move, the "Brave Sir Robin".

Thanks a lot for the tips... I'll try that, I do feel like I am a Sir Robin!!

Also keep in mind when in a conflict zone the NPC is NOT as smart as a real cmdr, NPC's don't usurely target your powerplant,thrusters or FSD like real Cmdr's do so if your nervous about being killed by a human cmdr in a CZ then just leave and go to one of the other CZ in that system(most times there are more than 1 CZ in a system)
You could also just leave the CZ and then return again and choose the other side so the "guy" you're nervous about is on the same side as you ;)
