Going to the Gnosis? What ship are you taking with you?

i'm sitting here trying to decide what ship I wanna take to the Gnosis and I can't decide. So I thought I'd ask what everyone else is bringing. I myself am kinda low on credits at the moment from A rating my Anaconda. I have roughly 60 million to work with. But my rebuy is nearly 15 million. So I was thinking instead of taking my Anaconda and risk running low on funds that I would just take something else.

My problem though is that my first instinct is to just bring a Python, but I traded mine in for my Conda and I don't have enough to build one and also don't have enough time to grind for money. So I am stuck with a 40 million credit budget. That leaves my options at my Courier, DB Explorer, or my Asp. Or I could build a Chieftan or a Clipper.

So I thought I'd ask what everyone else is bringing to maybe get an idea of what I should be bringing. So if you are going on the Gnosis what gonna be your ship of choice?

You won't need mega range, everyone is stuck in a relatively small bubble.
You won't need all the repair malarki that people insist on nowadays, gnosis is near by for repairs.
In the unlikely event of something interesting is discovered, you can use outfitting to transfer what equipment you might need.

So you really do not need a fully kitted exploconda, dbx or courier would do just fine.

The Imperial Type-7.

It allows me to carry all the stuff I want (SRV, collectors, mining lasers, AFMU, scoop, guardian FSD booster, etc) and still jump 53ly, all while still being a pleasant ship to fly for an extended period(unlike Anacondas and other whales).

I mean realistically is there gonna be any real danger there? I have never done one of these. I have seen a few people tell me that other people are bringing combat ships just in case, but if its gonna be all safe and sound then I would almost rather have my Asp or my DBX. Much easier to fly than my Conda and much better cockpit views for whatever we find.

Nobody knows. That's the beauty and purpose of exploration :)

Now realistically, most probably won't be anything out there at all. But there's only one way to know for sure.

Good point lol

I might just say screw it and bring my Asp. Its fun to fly. Gives me range and I can slap guns on it if I have to.

Gnosis outfitting is pretty rubbish, so have everything stored beforehand.
While in theory it's fine to take a combat ship, gnosis is already over 1 Kylie away so maybe not a grade A pvp ship

I fully equipped and engineered my AspX for exploration and it has been gathering dust for much to long. Now this seems like a great opportunity to use it.

I'll be taking my multirole Conda. I'll summon whichever of my modules aren't sold on the Gnosis (maybe AX ones, i'll have to check EDDB) before the jump, just in case we end up completely cut out from the outside and can't import anything.

Brought the Starduster and met up with the Gnosis at Merope. I could have gone out to the last jump at Outotz ST-I D9-4 but decided to make sure I didn't miss anything. Looks like these stops being made prior to the big jump have already been explored so don't expect a lot of "first discoveries." I use this for exploration. I still keep weapons on board but in this case, nothing "anti-Thargoid" is installed. I just hope we don't encounter "them" during this trip. A month of fending off bugs would be ... a three-hour movie staring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as me and Vin Diesel as my co-pilot. Rumor has it that Vin Diesel can kill Thargoids with his tea cup.

Probably the biggest danger is from other Cmdrs if you play in open

Heavily engineered iCourier. Fast enough (I hope...) for Open, versatile enough for exploration, powerful enough to handle (non-alien) NPCs.

I agree that it's the most likely scenario, however i really don't like the geometry of the place:

You got that tiny bubble willfully placed by FDev inside a giant inaccessibility sphere. AFAIK, this is the only such "enclave" inside a permit-locked region in the game. They put it there because they intend to put something special at this very place at some point, and maybe that special thing won't appear before a few months or years, but if it's already been added into the game, i want to make sure i'm not jumping in fully naked.

I've never been on one of these before. Always shied away from multiplayer. But gonna take the plunge. What's the worst that can happen?! Still deciding whether to take the asp or anaconda though. See you all there!
