Golconda station looks cramped.

They lived on a giant generation ship that looks like a station. How do they have the room on that tiny new station to live? I thought they were going to be given a full sized space station. How will the live in the future?! They will have to have room for future generations. Did the feds rip them off? How does this make sense to begin with?

Well they still have the ship, an outpost, and an agricultural station.

That's where the Federation comes in. I'm sure they will be given an offer they cannot refuse once they grow beyond the carrying capacity of their current accommodations.

Did the feds rip them off?

Yes.

How does this make sense to begin with?

There is no such thing as altruism. The goal was never to make the Golconda self-sufficent, but render them beholden to their savior. That's what states do.

They also have the VERY spacious agriculture station to live on... just from the accommodation windows present it is clear they will have enough ''lebensraum''. o7

P.S. In this case I think FDev have set the end stage in the system very well with the defunct generation ship off in the near distance (31Km) so it can be visited and the messages read by new commanders who are not up to speed with the story (could do with a final message (No.6) publicising the emotional last moments of the inhabitants tenure/departure from their beloved ship the Golconda.... could perhaps benefit from a Visitors Beacon near the Golconda some time in the future), .........and the new Platform AND Agriculture Station in very close proximity....... around the planet they finally wound up orbiting! .......Well done FDev! Probably the best Intergalactic Initiative/CG in a long while (All IMHO)

The original station looks pretty big .....

But the size of the new station may be misleading ....

Even a single opening in the station is large compared with my Python, and there's lots of "Chinese apartments" visible ....

And provides a useful hideaway and viewpoint ....
