Exploring is not the most profitable career in Elite Dangerous and explorers don't do it because of the credits, but since you are there anyway, why not get some ingame currency?
The most profitable things are Black Holes, Neutron Stars, ELW, Ammonia Worlds and Water Worlds. But there is a kind of planet that gives a decent amount of money and are much more abundant: Terraformable canditates.
In my last (very long) trip I was adding them to a table to help me define the Circumstellar Habitable Zone aka Goldilocks zone. After a while I was able to predict pretty accurately if the planet was Terraformable or not.
I am sure with the new Journal logs in 2.2 this kind of tables will be way easier to make and more complete, but here is a starting point:

There are only planets in single star systems, to prevent the heat from other sources to affect the calculations, so keep in mind if you find another star pretty near the main one, this table is almost useless.
And yes, I am aware of the great app made by Jackie, but I found it to be faster just searching for the start type in the table.
