Good afternoon Cmdrs

I currently play ED on my Xbox through the game pass. I already bought it for PC, just waiting for the profile copy process so I can fully switch over to PC to get the full experience. Well I just noticed today that Xbox has removed ED from their game pass on the 31st of last month. So my whole question is do I still need to log in to the Xbox version to be able to copy my profile over to PC? I would really hate to have to buy the whole game on Xbox just to swap over to PC.

They seem to have thought of gamepass

I am playing Elite Dangerous on Xbox Gamepass. Will I be able to copy my Commander to PC and play there?

The process will recognise and copy across valid game licences. If you have not purchased Elite Dangerous on Xbox, you will be able to Copy your save to a new PC account, but will not have a licence to copy across; which means that you will need to purchase the game on PC to be able to launch Elite and access the copied profile.

If you are copying your Game Pass profile to an existing PC account that has a licence for Horizons/Odyssey; those licences are retained and you will be able to continue playing with the console profile on PC.
... so hopefully not. At worst you might have to contact support to do the copy - hopefully not even that. Guess you'll find out soon :)

Thanks that helps. Yeah I went ahead and bought ED for PC a few months ago just haven't actually played it besides the first opening scene.
