Oh, that great Homeworld 2 music brings back memories. Listening to it again made me also thing of the newer Battlestar Gallactica series.
Frontier does pretty well with some sound effects, but their ED soundtrack is pretty boring I think.

Babylon 5 "Severed Dreams" quite good battle music.
I'm partial to the Dawn of War 2 soundtrack, due to its emphasis on extreme epicness:

That was good backing music for a duel that went horribly wrong (for me).
But my favourite music when in the middle of a Combat Zone, blasting NPCs left right and centre..

I may be showing my age, but Holst's The Planets: Mars is the ultimate battle music, if you can time your kills to the climactic bits
