Good passenger transport ship for 5-7m?

I've really started to get into and enjoy passenger missions and want to buy a dedicated passenger ship but my credits are limited to 7m right now.

What would be a good passenger ship for that much (inc outfitting)

Dolphin is in your price range, lovely ship, flies well (though it does sound a bit asthmatic!) and I believe you can fit luxury cabins (unlike multipurpose ships). Only available if you have Horizons though...

Edit: Looks like there are a few stations offering 15% discount as well, might be worth a visit http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Dolphin

t6. perfect bus with very good internals layout to stack 2-3 passenger missions, that do not require luxury cabins.

or dolphin. the perfect single-vip-passenger ship. maybe even good for 2.

I'm having a lot of luck with two small luxury cabins in the Cobra Mk3. Pulled in well over 2M credits with this configuration.

Luxury cabins are only available for the Dolphin, Orca & Beluga.

Dolphin and Beluga are two of my favorite ships. Sleek and fast

Is really about getting your rep up. When you're allied at the right station with the right factions the money can be crazy. I've taken 2 stop sightseeing less than 200 lys for up to 10 million.

Sorry to bother you, but I am courious as to how long in real time did it take you to accomplish that 200 ly trips. I plan on doing a lot of missions and passenger runs and would like an estimate as to how long it actually takes. Thanks

Hard to say because I usually stack 3 of them at once.
So like I start with the closest 1st stop, then check map for mission markers and follow to next closest stop.
Then as the second stops come up just do same.

I've done three and four site seeing mission runs and is about 2 hours for me.
That includes stopping to change music. .. smoke a little. ... generally no rush lol
I do these to unwind and make cash without grinding so to speak.
I see some cool sites, get descent explorer ranking and cash without really going anywhere :)

But one normal run, probably 30 min or less depending on FSD

On xbox I'd always leave a dolphin parked up at my favourite friendly stations as they're cheap to buy and outfitt and insanely capable at short sightseeing missions and simple transport missions!
If bought and outfitted from a discount station they cost about 3.5 mil ish and have a low rebuy of around about 120k :)

This is the build I've been using on xbox although I don't carry the guns anymore as the ship isn't fighter and it's easy to submit, boost and run ;)

I've run a route over 10,000 Ly a couple of times (which means I'm by no means an expert). You get very good at scooping as you're flying round the sun to get to the next jump point. I found that a good average was 2 minutes per jump (including time to get around the star and extended time for scooping if you've not seen a scoopable star for a while). Most jumps are closer to 1 minute, but 2 minutes gives you some leeway.

With 30-40 Ly per jump, that's 10-13 minutes for 200 Ly. If your jump range is shorter, either accept it'll take longer or look at a ship with a longer range. With a 10 Ly range, it could take 40 minutes. Also, as you're not going in a straight line, the total distance will be longer than the straight line.

A couple of things to note - if you're travelling more than 1000 Ly then you'll need to plot the route in multiple parts (which can be suboptimal). I also would advise having a massive and high-rated fuel scoop - it really adds the most time if you're going further than your tank allows. It's also worth having an advanced discover scanner as it can be completed while your FSD is cooling down (so wastes no time) and earns you a few extra credits.

if you know what you do, you can jump every 45 seconds, but one minute is a good approx.

a t6 bus has 23 ly plotted jumprange laden uneningeered.

200 ly are 9-10 jumps, so ~10 minutes.

getting to a tourist beacon, dropping, scanning depends on the placement of the tourist beacon from entry, but let's put 5 minutes for that.

a typical mission has 3 beacons, so that's 15 minutes.

going back to the source station adds another 10 jumps, so 10 minutes. and docking at your source station an handing in the misions adds another 5 minutes.

in total approx. 40 minutes for a mission. if it is a 10 mio mission, that's ~15 mio/h.

No bother at all. Third opinion here. Constant is the time per jump. If the servers are willing and you don't have unscoopables, 1 minute per jump is a good estimate. An engineered Dolphin will do ~40 ly/jump, so 200 ly is 6 jumps. Call it ten minutes, including the time to fly from the jump point to the actual mission target (may vary wildly - if you accept a mission to Hutton Orbital, dial in a nice movie vie Netflix for the trip). Another 10 minutes to go back again.

Thanks everyone, you were all most helpful. Though I do have one more question.
Can I accept a mission while hauling passengers at the same time.
Maybe it's just luck, but sometimes as I am checking for mission (I don't have a passenger ship yet) I see that a passenger wants to go to the same system and on rare occasions even the same final destination. It would be a real boost to one earnings or at least pay for the fuel.

Yep, you can stack a few missions and even more passengers if they will fit :)

It worth pointing out tho that alot of passenger mission rewards include four tons of a commodity so you need four ton empty capacity to hand in the mission!

So long as you have the space available you can accept as many missions (both passenger and cargo) to as many different destinations as you like (up to a point), but yes be aware that some missions rewards include commodities, so you have to take that into account (you can't complete the mission if there is not enough space in the cargo hold to accept the reward).

Yu guy are great, but now I've got just one more please.
IF I attempt to accept a mission or a passenger mission and I don't have sufficent space, does ED allow me to actually accept it even though I can't actually do it thus causing me to cancle and have a fine to pay.
