Hi, noob here. Loving the game so far. I'm currently running pure trader outfitted Sidewinder, and I've set course for Sol trading as I go. I plan on getting at least a couple of ships, Adder and Eagle for trading and fighting respectively for starters.Which systems in the area would be good to use as a base of operations in the general area of Sol? I'm looking for something with high player population and good opportunities for trading, fighting and Fed missions for Sol permit.

I would recommend Bhritzameno. It's a hightech system so you have all the options when it comes to buying ships an outfitting them + Sol is just a few jumps away.

I also camped at Sol. There are lots of high pop and high tech systems mixed with extraction and refining systems in 15 to 25 Ly radius of Sol. So trading between them is quite easy.
Im doing ok trading Perf. Enhancers and Gold between systems like Wolf 562 and 70 Ophiuchi, but there are several other options in that area.

Hi Karaaz, if you are setting up shop and then getting some trade routes going then thing that worked for me was making a "home system" at an extraction port with a shipyard. Then selling the sidewinder and buying a Hauler. Strip it all down, no scanners no shields, no weapons, just all cargo racks. Use this for making runs back and forth for high demand goods. I then have an Eagle that is more like a side project to sick money into upgrades and bounty hunt at the extraction sites of the home system. Once I'm ready to move on I'll sell it, jump in the hauler and relocate.
